The Queer Room is a safe space on campus for gay, lesbian, trans, intersex, queer & queer-friendly students to come up anytime during normal Monday-Friday hours to hang out, talk to other queers, make use of our many resources & become involved.
We're located on the 2nd floor of the Guild Building (go up the stairs to the left of Guild Admin). Alternatively, look for the rainbow flag flying off the Guild Building & follow it up to the room.
It can be pretty confronting visiting for the first time but as an added incentive we have DVDs, videos, Xbox, TV, an extensive library, a karaoke machine, bean bags, comfy couches, internet access, a microwave, a fridge, Milo, tea, coffee, info on queer issues & upcoming events and even an alfresco veranda! Most importantly however, there are other students just like you who are open, friendly & will do their best to make you welcome.
Most things that are easier said than done are worth it, so hold your breath & journey up to Queer Room. If it's too hard to go alone, ask a supportive friend to come with you for the first time.
