The ALLY Network is a project that aims to extend the current diversity initiatives of the University into the area of sexuality and to create a more diverse and inclusive culture at UWA by promoting greater visibility and awareness of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex (GLBTI) staff and students and their issues. It is a University project supported by the Equity and Diversity Services.
CCQN
The Cross Campus Queer Network is a group for lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual, questioning and queer students studying at any of Western Australia's universities.
It comprises the queer collectives at the various campuses, and is the primary means by which direction is given to the National Union of Students (WA) Queer Department.
It also provides the opportunity to meet and engage with like-minded students on and off campus through a range of social events held throughout the year.
QUEER aGender
QUEER aGender is a Perth community based social activist group. The group is a diverse, non-hierarchical collective of individuals with a common desire to create a more positive place for GLBTIQ people in the community. They hope to achieve this through a variety of tactics including organising campaigns, social events, art, music, direct action and collaboration with other community and activist groups. The group uses consensus based decision making to ensure that all voices are heard and individual opinions are respected and represented.
The group meets fortnightly upstairs at the Brass Monkey. For more information on QUEER aGender or the Big Pink Partnership Register contact Kat on 04 0895 8485 or Kitty on 04 1484 6153.
